DOORS’ design is inspired by a previous work by the artist entitled ‘I like to look inside’ in which, through the use of photographic doors, he related diversity, but also common connections, between human beings and a single place to arrive: a free and festive search for inclusion and welcome.
Made in Sicily, the carpet is hand-weaved. Sicily is home to precious hand-woven carpets and has a very ancient tradition. Many of these realities survive to this day and it is precisely from the encounter with the skilful hands of one of these craftswomen – Barbara Costantino – that this work was born from the design and contemporary colours (only three – white, black and red to accentuate the almost urban contemporaneity) of Susanna Cati.
